Frontman of The Royal Southern Brotherhood. He was one of the most polite and gentle men I have met in a very long time. This is in contrast to the energy he channeled on stage.

Kitty, Daisy & Lewis are a trio from London, England. Lots of energy and terrific talent

Roddie Romero and the HCA ancehall zydeco band from Lafayette, LA. I met Roddie two years ago and it was nice to reconnect.

Inventor of bluegrass cello, time traveler, creator of worlds. Pentecostal dancer, proprietor of igwarfnees, president of Norwegian Ostrich Society, winner of some contest in 1725.”
— Biographer of Rushad Eggleston

The Pine Leaf Boys played in 2013 and it was great fun to photograph them. They also are profiled in the documentary "This Ain't No Mouse Music"

Warren Hood (far right) is a very talented musician from Austin, TX. His band played in 2013.

This guitar case has seen some miles. I made this still life photo with my 8x10 view camera in the hospitality tent. I was struck by all the stickers and "experience" this case has seen. Owned by Stephen Fearing, a multiple Juno Award winning guitarist. He was performing with Blackie And The Rodeo Kings
The Rhythm and Roots Festival takes place every Labor Day Weekend at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, Rhode Island. It’s an annual tradition for me to make portraits of the artists with a large format camera backstage. I also tell the story of the event through the people and artists. www.rhythmandroots.com

Steve Earle is one of the greats. He politely declined having a portrait made, but that's okay.

It was fun to happen upon some musicians finishing off a set for themselves near the parking area backstage.
