In A Bentley

This oyster was born and raised in Matunuck, Rhode Island. The title comes from the Russ Meyer movie Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. This movie was written by Roger Ebert, so you know it's good.

This oyster print is available for purchase exclusively at my online gallery located here

Sea Of Tranquility

The title "Sea Of Tranquility" is a playful nod to the moon landing. The sea of tranquility is a location on the moon. We landed there for real.

Still life photo of an oyster. I admire the different shapes the shell creates in response to it's environment. Can you identify with that?

Hello Nurse!

Hello Nurse!

This is such a feminine shaped oyster. Now, I know not all nurses are female so don't feel the need to remind me.

James Brown is the Godfather of Soul. The sense of direction and movement I see in the shell remind me of the lyrics to "I Got That Feeling".

Oysters are aphrodisiacs and having a contemporary reference to that age old idea is fun. Available for purchase at Bert & None Gallery

Peg

You don't have to be a white guy with a darkly sarcastic world view to appreciate Steely Dan, but it doesn't hurt if you do.

Peg was one of their hit songs off the Aja album.

Available for purchase as either an archival ink or platinum print at Bert and None gallery

Eating an oyster is a reason to exalt the heavens with a 1970's Saturday morning television show superhero character.

Lowdown

I admit it, I'm a sucker for Boz Skaggs. I grew up in the 70's, listening to this music at the Janesville Wisconsin roller rink every Friday night (Disco Night) and it still speaks to me. I was about nine.

Does it make sense to project my childhood onto oysters? I don't care.
