Mr. Knuckles 8x10 Tintype

This is a one-of-a-kind tintype of a squirrel named “Mr. Knuckles”. I made it as an example during my Alternative Process class at The New England School of Photography. It’s a little smaller than 8x10 and is varnished to last forever.

Great for a unique gift for the person who has everything.

The wet plate collodion process based on using an emulsion of liquified cotton and sensitizing it in a bath of silver nitrate. The plates are exposed while the emulsion is still wet, hence the name. Wet plate collodion is used to make glass plate negatives, tintypes, and orotones.
