Vespers
Vespers: Evening Prayer or Evening
These items are preserved from living creatures. There is art and beauty in the care that went into their preparation. What I responded to most was the unseen life force each item contained. There is a stillness to the bones but, they are not quiet. Vespers are a point of reflection in the day. In the course of these animal's lives and existence, there only remains the simplest of remains and the whispered prayers.
The beauty in which these items were prepared honors their life. I approached this project with due reverence to the life lived and the beauty of what remains.
